Pricing
Pay for pages, not tokens.
Lecturers think in pages and lectures, so that’s how we charge. Your first 5 pages are free, and every run after it is quoted against your own pages before anything is sent to a model.

What a page buys
A page is a page of your PDF, read as carefully as you choose.
Allowances are counted in Standard pages so you can plan a term. Draft reads more lightly and goes further; Careful reads with the strongest models we’ve measured and goes much less far.
Underneath, every run is metered in credits for what it actually used. A dense page of equations draws more than a sparse one, which is why the quote is priced against your pages rather than a flat rate.
Quoted first
A free preflight samples three of your pages, with no AI call, and prices all three quality levels before you choose.
Capped, always
Set a ceiling and the run stops there, at a section boundary. Anything unread is listed and marked, never silently dropped.
Estimates, said plainly
Quotes have landed within about ±30% of the actual cost on completed runs. The cap is exact; the quote is a forecast.
What counts as a page?
One page of your PDF. Allowances are shown in Standard pages so you can plan a term. Underneath, a run draws credits for what it actually uses: a dense page of equations draws more than a sparse one, and Careful draws several times what Standard does. You see the quote for your document, at every quality level, before anything runs.
Why does Careful cost so much more?
It reads with the strongest models we’ve measured and adds a fourth reading, from a different model, to every section the first three don’t settle. Across our runs that has been around 70% of sections, so Careful is closer to four full readings than three. Use it where a prime mark or a subscript changes the meaning.
What if a run costs more than its quote?
It can’t go past your cap. Quotes are estimates, usually within about ±30%; the cap is exact. If a run reaches it, it stops at the next section boundary and lists every section it didn’t read, marked as unread in the reader and in every export. Run again with a higher cap to fill them in.
What does Figures cost?
Keeping a figure exactly as cropped is free. Redrawing one uses about 7 credits on the image engine, or about 8 on the vector engine, whose labels stay editable text. Re-exporting at a new size makes no new AI call.
Is the trial really free?
Yes, and no card is needed: about 5 pages at Standard (or 6 at Draft), with the full record of decisions and every export format. You can also go straight to Pro.
What happens when I run out of pages?
A run never starts on pages you don’t have. On Pro, add credits, or wait for next month’s allowance. Nothing you’ve already transcribed is affected.
How do I add credits?
On Pro, from Billing whenever you need more. Any amount from $10 to $500, at 45 credits per dollar. It’s a one-off purchase, not a bigger plan, and added credits never expire.
